Vintage Swimsuit

I first bought this vintage top because I loved the pink color and stretchy fabric. I later discovered that it was a vintage swimsuit. Double score! I love wearing the top with a great pair of skinny jeans but this day was hot so though it does not look like it in these pics, Im wearing denim shorts with the top.

I LOVE summer!

Chicago LIVE!

Last Thursday I was lucky enough to attend a live taping of Chicago LIVE! with my friend Hollis. A live broadcast at the Chicago Theater, hosted by famed reporter Rick Kogan, its a must see show. There was a great line up of guests, everyone from Top Chef and Lollapalooza culinary director Graham Elliot to Chicagos Artists' Coalition executive director Carolina Jayaram. The night was even infused with an amazing performance from the most talented young lady I have ever seen, Kate Diaz, along with a hypnotizing performance by the The Andreas Kapsalis & Goran Ivanovic Guitar Duo

Graham Elliot (on right) stunned the audience after revealing that he used 75,000 lobsters to create the lobster corn dog creations for Lollapalooza!!!

Me and Hollis at Chicago LIVE! She looked so pretty in her top from Comfort Me Boutique, which she paired with a great pair of blue pants. If you are in the Chicago area, PLEASE check out this store!

Carolina had alot to say about funding and helping artists find projects and work in the Chicago area.

14-year-old Kate Diaz gave me goose bumps with her soulful voice and guitar performance.

Just a Lil Fringe

My friend had a bag of clothes that she was going to give to Goodwill, so of course I had to get in the bag and see what she had in there. I found a bunch of Forever 21 t-shirts and it immediately sparked an idea. I saw a girl wearing a similar top on the street and wanted to try replicating the top myself. And it was sooo easy....

How to
Just cut 1 inch strips up from the bottom of the top. Knot at the top of strip and bottom. Trim as needed.

Top: Forever 21 DIY; Skirt: Abercrombie; Gladiators: INC from Macys; Necklaces: Assorted

I wore the same skirt later in the week for a completely different look. I love all the tribal/ethnic looks, and I brightened this look up with a vintage red necklace (for sale).
